Our Sites
SpaceOps NZ operates two complementary ground segment sites in New Zealand. Together they provide southern hemisphere access from Earth orbit through to lunar and deep-space missions.
Awarua Satellite Ground Station
46.5°S, 168.3°E
Located near Invercargill at 46.52°S. Awarua is our primary hosting and operations site, selected for its exceptionally low horizon mask, low population density and clean RF environment.
Best suited to: LEO/MEO/GEO operations, constellations, high-availability ground segment, hosted antennas
Core services: hosting, leasing, licensing support, installation and maintenance
Warkworth Space Centre
36.4°S, 174.6°E
Located near Auckland at 36.43°S. Warkworth hosts large-aperture antennas used for deep-space and lunar communications, radio astronomy and space geodesy, complementing Awarua’s operational scale.
Best suited to: deep-space and lunar mission support, precision tracking, scientific observations
Core services: deep-space antenna leasing and mission support, geodesy and radio astronomy operations
