20 Years of Growth and Innovation

SpaceOps NZ grew from New Zealand’s early ground station activity in Southland into a modern commercial ground segment provider. The Awarua Satellite Ground Station was commissioned in 2008 to support international launch campaigns and subsequently expanded to serve the global smallsat and commercial space community. In 2021, the operation became Space Operations New Zealand Limited (trading as SpaceOps NZ) to support continued growth and demand.
